Rope Myers won the 2001 World Champion Steer Wrestling title, but the mark he really wanted at the 2001 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo was the average record. "The record was in my family from 1985 to 1999." said Myers, whose father, Butch, set the mark in 1985 and again in 1997. "It's the one I really wanted." Myers got it - in smashing fashion. He placed in eight out of 10 rounds, en route to crushing the Wrangler NFR steer wrestling average mark by 4.6 seconds, finishing with a 10 head time of 37.4 seconds. |
